The Golf Construct Tour 2011

Can I start by saying a big “thank you” from Barry & I for the outstanding attendance of 90 players at our first tour event of the year hosted by Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club.

We managed to surpass last season’s March event at Dunham Forest were we had 82 players take part.
A great achievement and hopefully a sign of things to come for the rest of the tour season.

I am sure you will all agree that on the day the venue, course and the weather made for a truly memorable day out and I cannot thank Mark Vanner and his team at S&A enough for their help and co-operation making everything run like clock work.

My aim for the Golf Construct Tour is to offer us all the opportunity not only to build a strong relationship with our own client base but also to network with our fellow industry peers, while at the same time playing the best golf courses throughout the North of England. I am hoping the 2011 tour will be bigger, better and even more successful than 2010.

Round 01: The S & A Open – Friday 18th March 2011

Congratulations to Lee Stuart of the Mather & Stuart Generator Group. Lee scored an unbeatable 44 points. Lee is the first to admit he hit a purple patch on the day, his best and most consistent round for some time.

Everything he hit came off and the flatstick was red hot from start to finish. He scored 2 birdies on 15 & 16 holes and 7 pars in all. On each of the 3 par 5 holes he scored 2 pars and 1 single birdie, I am sure you will agree impressive reading indeed. Unfortunately due to prior commitments Lee cannot make The Pleasington Open in June, if he was able and with his first score on the table I have no doubt he would be in full contention for this season’s order of merit crown.

Lee is the Sales Director for Mather & Stuart Generator Hire based in Wigan. Mather and Stuart - as it exists today - was founded in 1984, but the firm's history goes back further than this, as prior to forming the company, both founders were involved in major generator provision contracts throughout Africa and the Middle East. This experience stood them in good stead to make a success of their own business.

In the intervening two decades, Mather and Stuart (www.matherandstuart.co.uk) has developed into a force to be reckoned with in the generator supply world. Specialising in the hire, sales and services of power products, the company has expanded substantially while retaining the commitment to quality and service that has enabled it to grow so steadily. They operate from a central base in Lancashire, with depots in the North East of England and the Midlands and can supply contracts throughout the UK and overseas.

It goes without saying we could not organise such an event without the passion for golf from you guys, in all weathers

I’ll look forward to seeing you all at Pleasington on 17th June!

Adrian
